ABOUT US
Islam is such a religion that every ruling, advice or guidance is persuaded with the reasoning of its most basic nature.
Ummah Heart strives to deal with the matters of deen and knowledge in its most basic forms. If we can begin to understand our religion in its simplest form, imagine the compounded understanding we can have of the more complex ideas.
Ummah Heart teaches the following subjects with a descriptive insight and a hint of love and enthusiasm:
- Quran tajweed starting with the pronunciation of alphabets
- Tajweed – beginning with smaller surah’s more often read during Salah
- Memorization of hadeeth – one hadeeth per week in an effort to memorize a total of 40 hadeeth
- The creation of Allah
- Personalities in Islam
- Fiqh – beginning at the basic level accompanied by practical lessons
- Auspicious days/months – lessons alter to include the importance of certain auspicious days/months as they occur during the year
- Seerah of Nabi Muhammad S.A.W
- Occasional self-development workshops hosted by a select team of qualified professionals
- Hijab Support Group
- Additional tafseer by Ml Zaheer Ragie
Considering the above outline, Ummah Heart aims to allow a first year student to be successful in their basic knowledge of the deen.
MEDIUM OF LEARNING
Each class is enhanced with the aids of motivational slides and speakers.
We get our masaail and Guidance from Ml. Zahier Ahmad Ragie, we also all have our respective Asaatitha that we studied under to which we get advice and Shura.
When we are asked intricate masaail we direct it either to the Jamiat or to Ml. Ragie.
The Aqeedah of this Madressa is according to the Ahlu Sunnah Wal Jama’ah and the Fiqh segment is based on Hanafi Fiqh as that is where our Ustaadha is specialised.
We use Kitaabs like:
Seeartul Mustafaa, Ta’leemul Haq, Ibn Kathir, Al bidayah wa Nihayah, Seeratul Mustafaa, Selected ahaadeeth from Bukhari Shareef for our 40 Hadeeth and Mishkaat as well as Qasasul Quran.
During every lesson, we promote and support group discussions and questions, for every sister threads her own path and battles her own journey. One can never be sure what piece of advice mentioned in passing can instil a seed of light in another.
Ummah Heart is also consolidated by Apa Zaahira’s background and expertise in Psychology. Having earned her Honours in a Psych degree as well as being a counsellor for the Islamic Careline, Apa has a diverse range of experience. This helps create an environment where learning about your creator goes hand in hand with learning about YOU, the one He created.

THOSE CLOSE TO OUR HEARTS
Those who thread upon the path of deen together establish a relationship that’s ephemeral. That being said, Ummah Heart was greatly grieved by the loss of sisters whom Allah had chosen to return home.
We pray for their entry into Jannah, and ask Allah to allow them to be with the companions in His eternal abode.
